          ... It had a real buzz but also a sense of safety and common purpose.

          ... I would have been compatible. Anyway, we drove back through Upton-upon-Severn and Bishops Cleve and into the lovely Cotswolds on a bright sunny day. Manual steering and partly mechanical brakes kept me on my toes at first but the wooden frame was wonderfully flexible and I was able to throw the car around nicely.           Wake up at usual time as no early start required this week. Have time to strip bed and set washing machine going before I eat breakfast. Load up the tumble dryer anda quick trip to the shops before it is time to say my goodbyes and set off.
          Walk to the bus stop and National Express No 444 is just a couple of minutes late and I am soon leaving LOnglevens behindme again. It is a beautiful day and quite a pleasant drive ovet the Cotswolds and up ...

          ... arrives about 10:00 and whiks me off on an uneventful drive to the Central Bus Station at Heathrow arriving pretty much on schedule. I have about 30mins wait for my transfer to Terminal 5 but a Woking bus is about to leave and he has to stop there en-route and agrees to take me.
          Check-in is not open when I arrive at 12:45 so take a seat nearby and have a snack and a drink whilst I wait. 13:00 sees ...
