      The first few days

      ... decent to watch!

      today I'm expecting my friend Stef and her husband Angus to arrive and stay for a while. I usually stay with them so it will be good to play host to them,although it means I will have to cook!!
      So, the first few days get a big tick. There is a lot to do around the area and I hope to do a few walks as well as hop on buses and go wherever!

      ... fire.
      We enjoyed one of the most memorable nights of our trip. The food was amazing, we laughed and reminisced and we were entertained by the hilarious restaurant manager who waited on our table.
      It was cosy and rustic - a wonderful night finished off with some delicious apple & blackberry crumbles with custard.
      We could have sat by the fire telling stories all night but those big fluffy beds were waiting for us.

      ... a time. at one point I pretty much decided she was only doing so to drive tail cat mad with jealousy.

      pretty kitty was really cautious. she'd rub up against you then run away. eat her treat and run away. come in to sleep on the bed, hear you shift after four hours and run away. it took me three weeks but I finally won her trust only to lose it on the last day. how was I supposed to know she was in the kitchen when I started to ...

      ... was definitely the funniest but some of the girls in it went all out and also had some massive falls. The last race was not so good for a guy that was only a couple of metres from the top. He managed to snap his leg, and in doing so showed the crowd the leg that was now backwards on his body....the crowd went from cheering to ewww's.

      After the races we all went to a pub in Gloucester to enjoy a beverage ...
