    ... On getting back down we saw the elusive bus had arrived so we climbed aboard and headed up to a place called Medeu, some 30 minutes away. The bus stops at a huge outside ice rink which is famed for having many professional skaters train at. Not wanting to practice our Torvill & Dean we walked to the cable car and caught that up to the ski resort of Chimbulak. Turns out it didn't matter that we didn't have time for boarding as the bloody slopes weren't open anyway. ...

    ... look after us and who also themselves seemed to enjoy our visit. It started with us entering the summer ger ( wood floor and dirt floor) and the women sitting to the left and the men to the right. We were served the traditional horse mare's milk, curd in different forms and something like clotted cream. This was followed by two lots of alcohol (arkhi) again made from some sort of curd by a distilling process which we were shown but I didn't understand. Didn't like it ...

    ... and he made it very clear that we could look at the lake, take photos but not set a foot closer to he gate. Why have a lovely photo and information about the lake in a tourist brochure aimed at foreign tourists ( it was written in English after all) and then only allow you to briefly look at it from a safe distance (eg no way of throwing poison in it!!!!)?
