    ... of the Gobi Discovery tourist camps and this one is called Khongor and is situated 220km west from Dalanzagdad city along the very famous Khogor sand dunes. It has 45 traditional gers.     Appalling night. Slept not much at all. The flat was absolutely stifling hot with not a breath f fresh air and then the sheets: the horrible polyester ones which hurt your skin as you toss and turn. Not many hours of sleep at all.     Sams: After leaving the home style hospitality we had in Astana, we headed for the mountains of Almaty, the biggest city in Kazakhstan. Almaty used to be the capital, but due to the high number of earthquakes the government decided to move the capital to Astana.
