So we are about 2 hours out of San Antonio........went through a lot of rain in Houston, saw a car sitting on top of the concrete center divider (that must of hurt).......so made it here safely, when we made it to the hotel we noticed that the other couple that travels to the other shows was staying here, they were coming from Atlanta......funny we ended up at the same hotel, so we had dinner together, and shared ...
... to the camper to shower I remembered exactly why I wanted to throw my saddle at the bull! OUCH!!! It turned out to be a LOVELY Texas evening, temps in the 70's, cool light breeze. A bright moon was out. I sat outside recovering for a bit, then reluctantly had to remove myself from my chair to shower and hit the sack. I *walked* to the showers, lol. I think everyone was glad that this was the last race before the summer break in the series.
After the Sunday races, we packed up (in the wind, fun fun), and headed back home. The EZUp awning wound up in the dumpster, the only casualty of the weekend! Lacey slept like a log when we got home.

Au revoir Nawlins and Louisiana and hello Texas. We left this morning in rain after breakfast of yogurt and wonderful French pastries. I can't say I am disappointed to leave the hustle and bustle of Mardi Gras behind. I'm at a loss for words to describe the Mardi Gras spirit, crowds, chaos and behaviours. It meant hour long lineups in restaurants, difficult traffic situations and constant noise which I have difficulty with. We would both like to ...
