Beautiful pools, restaurants and beach. Direct access to the boardwalk. Great breakfast. Rooms leave a little to be desired, but the excellence of the rest of the hotel easily makes up for that.

A distant but smooth boat ride left us back on the docks of Labuan Baju. Yet there were still some debts to settle before our departure. Due to our previous unfortunate encounters with ATMs, or lack there of, we set out to right this wrong only to be faced with the same outcome, not working. Four different ATMs later we finally found someone …

... here but in a different way to the island's coastal paradise resorts. This town exhibits a different side of Balinese culture and way of life... aside from lying on sunloungers/beach bean bags sipping Pina Coladas. Both of these sides really are just as wonderful as each other, but Ubud was for me, personally, my favourite part of Bali so far! I feel I have seen the real Bali now and you are also not too far from the beaches here by minibus/Taksi ...

The masks of Barong and Rangda are considered sacred items, and before they are brought out, a priest must be present to offer blessings by sprinkling them with holy water taken from Mount Agung, and offerrings must be presented.

... the van! When we arrived at the van, we were given a cold face cloth to wipe down with, which felt great and we were also given another cold bottle of water. It was a short ride to the restaurant for me, but a longer, difficult uphill climb for Jason. When he arrived at the restaurant about 45 minutes later, he was dripping with sweat from the workout. We enjoyed a nice buffet lunch of traditional Balinese foods and were then driven back to our hotel.

... pinnacle. Next was off to the wreck, an old US WW2 ship that was sold to the Thai government. It was meant to be followed another two sites on our way back to the boat but we came across a turtle at the second site and just swam with it for 15 minutes instead! The night dive in the evening finished off the course and my stint of diving for a few days. I moved down to a hostel in the village the next day and spent about five days there chilling out on the beach, snorkelling off ...
