The hotel that night was food and drink heaven as it was run by an ex-pat Aussie. They had an entire fridge stocked with the local Bintang beer, and a menu that included bacon and egg sandwiches. ... park is right at the crater but it's covered in mist and rain. We pop our rain jackets on and start walking round the crater. The sulphur is strong though and little flecks burn our eyes. After about 30 mins walking the mist clears and we can see the blue lake and some of the crater itself. It's a great sight, probably more dramatic with the mist acting like a stage curtain.
