Friday, Oct. 5th I left at 10 am to go to Lagos, Portugal. I went with a travel agency called Discover Sevilla, and a lot of other kids from my program went too. It was so interesting to hear his perspective on the Camino and to get some insights from when he and Yessica were making the documentary. We also got the strongest downpour so far. Rias Baixas (Bajas in Castilian) is not smoother country than the northern rias. The beaches are calmer, warmer and easier accessible and so beach tourism flourishes here, making it less nature and more resort. Never a moment alone, not even in the shoulder season.

So its mothers day today and because we are in a foursome of 3 mothers we had a "lay" day and took the BUS. From Tui to Redondela and then walked the hour to our hotel Anton at Soutoxusto.
Very different to our beautiful Portugal. Bigger, newer, dirtier and less gardens, although we have not hit the camino yet.

... from 3 BC. It was described as an ancient hilltop village with several circular stone foundations. See the photo of one of these with a restored thatch roof. Really interesting! Afterwards we decided to find the train station to see if we can walk to it tomorrow morning. It's a good thing we did because our map was wrong! The train station is now located down by the Port.
