    ... 2,000 years ago and three reconstructed houses to give you a sense of things. In some ways, they reminded me of the places I had seen in the mountains of Nepal only a few months ago and how people still live today.

    The train brought us back to Santiago for our final night in this historic and fine city.

    ... and and a half journey took us to the coastal town of A Guarda which is mainly a working fishing harbour. It's out of season now but we managed to find one place still open which sold seafood. Mussels, scallops and langoustines - excellent.

    There is a lovely coastal walk towards the border with Portugal where the waves crash in from the Atlantic. It's pretty undeveloped here and full of atmosphere.

    ... where folks come to regain their health. Unfortunately it is to wet and cold to sample them. So best try the Vino instead. Heck Freddy is fraught lots of old folk in robes, little tiled rooms and nurses, lounges with card games and Tv's everywhere dark and dreary.     ... some things for Christmas. We found a Zara home and bought some Christmas decorations. The nice weather was rather short lived as it soon began to pour down! It was like monsoon season. I've never seen rain like it! We ended up buying umbrellas and ponchos! We still looked as if we'd swam from Southampton to Vigo though! We attempted to return to the ship however the queue for re embarkation was from the gangways ...

    So I think we have figured out how to make this ship work for our needs....which is leisurely quiet enjoyment most (not all) of the time.
    So for sure you have to avoid the English Pub. It is always full of fat, tatooed, bald, beer drinking and loud Englishmen shouting at the soccer game on the "Tele".
    We also have to avoid the promenade especially when "sales" are on which is most of the time. It is full of ...
