Late night neighbours and noisy staff destroyed plans for
hours and only managed about 6 so was ready for a double espresso at the
airport. Needed it to get through the cramped and cloudy flight back to
Fortaleza. Was interesting to see all the unfortunates still dossing on the
streets and prostitutes still hard at it, all loitering on street ...

I think I'm still recovering from having written so much in the last blog so this one is going to be short and sweet. After waiting in the airport and attempting to sleep on the floor we finally boarded out flight from Manaus to Fortaleza at about 2am. This got us to Fortaleza for about 6am on a Sunday morning. After faffing around for hours working out which bus to catch etc and waiting for hours because it was a Sunday morning we arrived at ...

New place new friends. Fortaleza was cool because right when I got there we went out. Some Chileans brought a big bottle of pisco and before you know it we all were riding happy on the way to pink elephant. It's a popular expensive night club they have here in Brazil. Anyways the next several days it was pretty much the same. Fortaleza to me seems a little rough and unsafe. I'll admit I had a good time here and my portuguese is getting ...

... and bought street caipirinhas from a small stall whilst watching the next footie match from the street. Safe to say by 6.30 the street caipirinhas had done their job but luckily our lady also had a pulled pork sandwich stall so after indulging in a baguette (or two in the boys case) we headed back into the street party that had developed outside the fan Fest watching the music on the big screen. The roads were closed to traffic and there were thousands of Brazilians ...

Another day ends and at this stage, that surely means some hearts have been broken and elation fills those of the victors. Each of the games had significance attached to them relative to advancement to the Round of 16 or advancement to the airport for the long trip home.England with 9 changes from their last outing, pressed hard against Los Ticos (Costa Rica) but again found not the net but rather only futility. Little was expected from their ...
