    Good start to the day and set our course for Portugal stopping off for a lunch stop at Isla Cristina, which is a bustling fishing port and town. They have good facilities for the fleet; plenty space. They must have some sort of nautical college here as well because the free fall lifeboat training rig was on the quayside.     Arrive Gatwick at 14.50 twenty minutes before Mo. Plane takes off on time at 17.10 arrive Faro 19.45 bus into town at 20.35. Hotel Sol Algarve good with lovely courtyard for breakfast, neighbourhood a bit run down though. Bit of a disaster with dinner, went to authentic Portugese local restaurant Adega Nova but didn't understand the menu and I land up with pigs liver. Managed to eat ...

    Although we love this river so much we must start thinking about pushing on, so we left Alcoutin and headed back to Ayamonte. Being a Sunday and Spain, everything is closed so we took advantage of having internet connectivity and caught up on lots of admin and emails etc.

    ... what a magic place !! Just popped back to say bye to my new friends here and found another four leaf clover ...ran back to give it to Nuno and Edna ...and they they too will be lucky now Anyway next is Faro for my early departure tomorrow at 6am and tonight pick and go to the bull fight ...can't wait, apparently at least in Portugal they don't kill the bulls... Well they certainly torment them and hurt them ...BUT WOW WOW WOW ...what ...

    ... lots of bashing on the transom, but at least when she turned and the tide was going out we got a rather peaceful mornings sleep.
    Having checked the weather and seeing that it was going to blow N'ly quite strong Gen
    checked the charts and found a nice bend in the river which should provide us with shelter.
    The river, Guadiana is just so pleasant. In places it reminds me of Australia, with the
    burnt soil and eucalyptus trees. The river runs in between ...
