Trees, trees, trees
... it but actually had all modern conveniences. Well by todays standards the conveniences aren't so modern. There is no TV, no mobile phone reception, no internet (whether or not to provide wi-fi is a hot topic of debate), heating is by wood burning stoves (there was snow on the hilltops the day we left!). Arab Mountain Firetower
After the 50+ mile backpacking loop, I took inventory of my blisters and decided that my feet could suffer a quick trek to find some nice views atop a firetower. It was a short hike up (30 minutes for a 1 mile ascent) and I had the peak to myself.

The attached photos only show the west branch as far as the dam at lunchtime because my camera battery ran out. There were lots of photo ops later on that I missed . Too bad.
At one point a big, dark cloud came over us and I became anxious about being out in a storm but it cleared up after a tiny bit of rain. All in all, the weather was quite cooperative and it was a beautiful day for kayaking and canoeing in this area.
