          One of the fanciest hotels I have ever experienced. I felt like a Hapsburg. And the on-site café is everything you could hope for. One thing though... the bathroom isn't marble... it's alabaster! Room 408.

          The Art Deco Imperial Hotel is a marvel, it is an outstanding example of doing it right. The place was renovated with loving attention to detail. The rooms are spacious, very high ceilings, wonderful bathrooms with heated floors and a heated mirror without touching the ambiance of an old hotel. Huge bathtub rounds out a perfect hotel bathroom. The hotel is full of attractive tiling and over the top restaurant restoration that is breathtaking. The breakfast was up to the task of the room it was served in.

          A five star experience in a wonderful space.

          The Art Deco Imperial Hotel has lovely period artwork and its location is perfect for walking to major sites in Prague. Our room was sunny and comfortable and equipped with complimentary coffee & tea. The staff were friendly and helpful in providing information and directions. The hotel was clean and the Imperial Café served a delicious buffet breakfast. We had dinner in the Imperial Café and were pleased with the quality, selection and presentation of the food. An excellent choice for a hotel in Prague!

          In Prague, the culture is so rich one does not know where to begin. You don't have to dig for it - it is in your face everywhere from the moment you arrive in the medieval Old Town or the "New Town (founded in 1348!)" I guess the only way to describe the experience is to say you can believe everything you read in the travel brochures.

          In the morning we disembarked from the ship and got on the bus to drive to "Golden
          City" of Prague.When we got there we continued on a bus tour of this
          magnificent city. We visited the 1000-year-old Hradcany Castle grounds,
          former residence of the Bohemian Kings and enjoy breathtaking views of

          The Delta plane had lay flat seats! Engine noise was very quiet. This made the flight much nicer. Can't say too much for the food or the movie selections though. Arrived mid morning. The Prague airport was easy to navigate and we were through baggage claim and customs very quickly. Even better, the Uniworld driver was waiting and parked very close …

          550 k to Prague. Lunch in Bratislava. Go thru the Moravian and bohemian highland. Moravia is wine and brandy region. Bohemia is the beer region. Very clever system in the roads where trucks have a lower speed limit to buses that are lower than cars. Seems to ensure a nice flow with no bottlenecks trying to overtake buses and trucks. So now in Prague. Hope to catch up with the cousins tomorrow.

          it us Saturday. Market day - and our last full day in Prague. Sob!!

          Robyn is better, although still not great, and she and Frances are off on a day trip to the Terezin Concentration Camp site. I passed on that for several reasons:

          * I plan to do Auschwitz out of Kraków and think one such experience is enough;
          * I wanted to …
