The Art Deco Imperial Hotel has lovely period artwork and its location is perfect for walking to major sites in Prague. Our room was sunny and comfortable and equipped with complimentary coffee & tea. The staff were friendly and helpful in providing information and directions. The hotel was clean and the Imperial Café served a delicious buffet breakfast. We had dinner in the Imperial Café and were pleased with the quality, selection and presentation of the food. An excellent choice for a hotel in Prague!

Today we left the Scenic Crystal with the free food and drinks at any hour, balcony in our room to enjoy while cruising and 130 people we didn't know 2 weeks ago. We went by bus with 40 people we didn't know 2 weeks ago, on an 8 hour bus trip through Hungary and Slovakia to the Czech Republic and into Prague, arriving at 5.45. We did have 3 stops …

Our coach departure from Budapest went smoothly leaving at 8am after an evening cruise to admire the fantastic lights of Budapest.
It was a motorway bus trip of about 550km through vast flat darling downs type country with canola being the main crop inevidence. Seemed lush and fertile country that gets regular rainfall. Not a beast sighted in …

We had a couple of days in Prague, however the first one consisted of a fair bit of sleep and some laundry!

Unfortunately I had a bit of a headache Wednesday which turned into a migraine in the afternoon which sucked a bit.

The morning was really lovely though. We ventured into the north part of town to find prague laundromat. The one and only. It was a very cool laundromat. And apparently the only one in ...

... so much. It looked as eastern bloc on the inside as well as the outside. Wires were poking out of the walls, things were crumbling.....it had a real "behind the iron curtain" feel to it! A lot of things in that part of town were like that. It wasn't a tourist area and some things are still transitioning......while others have transitioned so far into capitalism they aren't ever coming back.

The museums abut a park. I wander ...

We wake late to a sunny morning with the spires of the Tyn church visible - but no food. Walter and Gayle source bread from a local bakery while the rest of us sleep. We have our priorities sorted! Number two priority is to make contact with the outside world now that we have internet again, and it is suddenly well after midday before we hit the streets. Oooops! Not surprisingly, by the time we meander through the crowded streets, over the ...
