First Full Day in Prague

A travel blog entry by calthepal

First full day in Prague, the weather was sunny and around 60! We met for a Grand Prague Tour, booked through Viator, and 9:30am in the Republic Square. We thought this was a walking tour, but seems more than half of it was from a bus, and the other half was touring the Castle. Prague, or as the locals call, Praha, is such a beautiful city. ... Symphony.

Took a self guided tour audio through the Jewish area. There are 5 Synagogues, the ceremonial hall and the cemetery to explore all in about a square kilometer. The Jews lived in Prague since the city was founded over 1000 years ago. It had one of the largest Jewish communities. They were restricted to trading and money lending in the early years. Persecuted at various times and restricted to living in the enclosed Jewish area for many centuries.
