          ... even by western standards, and so we had a good evening catching up before heading off for dinner. After which myself and a few others headed out to a nearby local (i.e. cheap beer) bar and then as we headed back bumped in to our fellow travelers in the hotel bar, and there we stayed for the rest (which turned out to be surprisingly long) of the night.

          We arrived in Abuja, *****ia, Thursday evening around 8 pm after a short flight from London and a six-hour flight from Amsterdam.
