      ... they would guard us for the night, but it was
      still a bit of tummy churner. One thing during the day that I thought
      was funny was a smashed up lorry with no windows and very battered
      that had a painting on it that said “God is my witness”.

      ... we were so far north it was 3rd tier roads most of the way west. Or was it 4th or 5th tier? Or was it even a road? One day we did 46km in 9.5 hours. The road, sorry track, was no more than a motorbike track in parts. We spent quite a bit of time cutting down trees and limbs so the truck could pass. And filling in holes and levelling ruts so we didn't get grounded. I wont talk about how useless most of the group are except to say I am sure ...

      ... predominantly Muslim in the North.

      Everyone we did speak to in Abuja were friendly, and apart from the obviously tight security in both the hotel and Cinema complex we had no trouble wondering around (apart from the sun on our heads that is).

      On the second day, having discovered that there was another cinema complex I decided to kill some time and enjoy the air conditioning and watched the latest Harry Potter film. An added bonus being the offer of ...
