... followed supper up with a short stop at our rooms where Andy gave Mom her birthday present. He intended to give it to her at dinner but forgot to bring it with him, so we did it in our stateroom instead. It was a lovely set of silver-grey freshwater pearl earrings. A very nice choice that he bought on the ship. After that we all went for a night time swim in the pools. It was really nice, and kind of odd as with the ship rocking back and forth the water in the pools would ...

This is another out island adventure ..... i will say the best so far I had from Nassau.

Lemon shark feeding shoreside in a ...
Saddleback Cay, New Providence, Bahamas hecqsOn our way to the island tour, we were welcomed by a friendly stingray and gave us the experience of being suctioned by its mouth as we tried to feed him. But then, he realized that we don't have any food for him so eventually, he left but gave us the knowledge of not fearing them. They are gentle creatures of the sea.
Saddleback Cay, New Providence, Bahamas hecqsA different kind of experience... feeding shark in broad daylight.....shoreside.....

Free port has one at Pier One, but you are like so high above the waters and in the evening. So all you are seeing are but splashes made by the shark as they feed.

Here, you will see the entire length of the shark under the very crystal clear waters, just one meter high.

Saddleback Cay, New Providence, Bahamas hecqs... s been practicing his golf skills on the upper deck by hitting the ball into a net - he reckons he's get good at it now - anyone fancy challenging him to a game? Maybe you could come and join us in the Bahama's :-) - Warmley golf course isn't sunny enough for us!

We've also tried our hand at a little bit of basketball - but neither of us are too good at it and the americans are showing us up!

Yesterday, the ship stopped at Grand ...

Dunmore Town, Harbour Island, Bahamas hecqsSorry that we haven't been able to write a blog sooner, this is the first time we've had internet access for long enough! Well, the two of us have been having a fantastic time in the Bahamas. We started out in Nassau where we spent a couple of days exploring the capital. The buildings here are very twee, pastel coloured and kind of colonial style. We navigated the streets and wandered through the straw market and watched the big cruise ships at the harbour ...
Nassau, New Providence Island, Bahamas markandcharWe had an awesome first full day of the cruise. Woke up early so we could get over to the beach for a full day of snorkeling and we weren't let down. Bought a few packs of fish food and we had feeding frenzys around us. Unfortunately we didn't take the camera ashore.
Eleuthera, Out Islands, Bahamas camarodrivenrs... right in front of me appeared a huge silver Barracuda. Initially I thought it was a Wahoo (the relative of a Barracuda that we had been eating in the Galapagos Islands! however, as I stood rigid I remembered that I had seen a picture of a Wahoo and it wasn't the same... then it hit me... **** it had to be a Barracuda!! Stupidly I wanted to get a picture and I swam close behind the almost stationary fish and snapped away... then I lost my nerve, turned ...
Eleuthera Island, Bahamas chris_lynz... Haven, which could have been cleaner but the location was awesome, overlooking the Carribbean. This was a delightfully isolated spot with incredible waves for surfing (board or body), swimming, lounging in coral rock water holes or soaking up the rays. To get out of the strong sun, locals built tiki huts along the beach, which came in handy when we got caught in a sudden rain shower.

We ate local ...
