... and had a very enjoyable afternoon skiing all together on Blackcomb Mountain. We took a GPS device with us so I can tell you that we covered over 10km in distance and over 3,000 vertical meters

We rounded off our anniversary at a bar with a few cocktails before food shopping and heading home for a delicious home-made curry.

So all that remains to be said is HAPPY NEW YEAR and Welcome to 2014! May it be a good year for you ...

... as the rain had stopped and a bit of blue sky emerged – but the operators advised us that it had not lifted enough to be worth it. Shame as it is only open at weekends at present, but such is life and it was true to forecast so we were not surprised. The photo shows the area - the mountains are not visible.

... the only one we saw all day. Mtn is 2440m but gondola station is at 1860m. At Blackcomb there are heaps of walks so set off and ended up at a lake where we had our lunch. What a superb spot. The walk partly went through some white bark pine which gave the walk a lovely aroma as we went by. ... to the RV to relax we could barely talk to each other. There are still four more days to go, and sessions in the afternoons at the airdome and flow track (I'll explain what these are in days 3 and 4). We are not sure what day 3 will bring, let's hope a good nights sleep gets us pumped for another big day. Day 3: Could the weather get any better? ... excited (as always) when we drove past Robson St.

Through Stanley Park and across the bridge onto the Sea to Sky highway and on our way to Whistler. Right about now we are questioning the insanity of not staying in Vancouver tonight as definitely starting to fade by this point.

After a couple of brief stops to look at a waterfall (ooooh) and a 7-11 to search for popcorn (ahhh) we finally, finally arrived at our hotel in Whistler. ...
