This motel is set on Mirror Lake, a smaller but just as beautiful and much quieter lake. You have a lovely view of the lake from your motel/cottage, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, nicely remodeled, and spacious. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

... Wayne 'Swirled; it was goo-ood!

From there we headed the rest of the way to Conway, New Hampshire. I liked this state as well. Their motto "Live Free or Die Hard" kind of resonates with me as a motorcycle enthusiast. People were friendly and the roads were good. The weather was great today which helped keep our spirits up. The White Mountain National Forest area was awesome. All in all I'm pretty proud of ...

... few ingredients to work with - just some seasonings that had been left at the hostel. Scallops to start, literally with just salt and pepper, were delicious. The clams were steamed in some beer and the salmon and swordfish chunks were panfried with a few mixed herbs. Everything was delicious, so fresh and forgiving, considering I managed to slightly undercook everything. Fortunately we both prefer that to the alternative!

The next day was a long drive to Quebec, about 500 kms, so we asked Rosie to take us on the most direct rowt. We were expecting a bit of snow so we didn't want to dawdle. That's a word I haven't heard for a while. We had to go through Canadian Immigration and heard all sorts of stories how difficult it could be. With only one car in front of us and 30 seconds later we're through so I needed to start to work on my French accent as Quebec is ...

Maura and I were happy to be cruising along in the CRV this morning as we drove back to the White Mountain's Visitor Center in Lincoln to resume the bike trip. Yesterday, after picking up the CRV from Mike's, we stopped at the bike shop to have Surly's gearing problem fixed.

I was excited to tackle the Kancamagus Highway, my ...

Later, I met Maura at the White Mountains Visitor Center. I scouted around for a safe place to lock up Surly for the night. We needed to drive ...
