      ... Praia dos Pero, swimming and sunbathing. In the evening we had a BBQ and went out for a few drinks in Pero.

      ... have any trouble and we seemed to meet the nicest, friendliest people around. We arrived in the afternoon and the people here aren't kidding, it's a jewel of a city. The whole place is tucked between mountains and the sea and it just wanders its way along the coast.       ... The Christ Statue is pretty much right above me (when the clouds clear) and plan to do a city tour courtesy of the lovely people here at Alpha Hostel tomorrow. Found the local Co-op :-) and got some food (ok mom?!) Plan to stay here until Saturday then catch bus to Foz (approx. 20 hrs) Right ho, clock ticking so better finish this for today. ...

      When the Beatles said they were bigger than Jesus, they´d obviously never visited the statue of christ (cristo redentor) that overlooks Rio (unlike the pope in 1980 and more recently and some would say importantly Carl and Laura in 2006!) because it´s bloody big!
