Today we left a now sunny paraty to go to a supposedly also sunny Ilha grande. A few hour bus ride we arrived at the port where we boarded the boat for the island. The weather was amazing; blue skies and a hot hot sun. Up on the roof we were all sunbathing and enjoying the ride. Until, up ahead a huge grey rain cloud loomed over ilha grande. It was a mad rush everyone climbing down ...

Today the weather was still a bit grey so we went on a hike to a natural pool up in the jungle and then an hour and a half on to a waterfall. Amazing how quick time flies by when you don't have anything to do!? Although I hadn't seen lots of the "must see" things, was great to see some of the other sides of Rio, and some great recommendations from Cariocas (people from Rio).......And I'm definitely planning on coming back through Rio on my way North through Brazil, so it's all ...

    - Tomorrow we are moving from the island. In spite of the fact it is close to Rio, and there are
many tourists here, you feel like in a completely wild place. The infrastructure is primitive but
the island is maintained very clean. Dozens of restaurants offer you diverse dishes. You can find
here everything for a good vacation. In the forest there are various types of monkeys (see our
    photos below).

... easily have served 4 people! It was served in a hot iron pot bubbling away. And a clay pot of rice with a pot of warm unknown sauce to go with it! Loved it. I also nursed my mango cairprivodka for over an hour and even had to ask him to add more juice as it was so strong and I was still a bit hungover. Whilst there, Alex, Angie & Ryan were walking back up the beach so we then went on for a drink with them. ...
