They spoke barely any English and we speak very little Portuguese but they gave us a bit of a lesson and we ended up playing 5 games with them. By the end I was absolutely covered in sand! We spent time chilling out on the beach and swimming, finding an English pub to watch the rugby in and ...

We made the most of it though but still felt slightly offended that all the 17 year old Brazilian males were game enough to have a crack. What is it with Brazilian males ? Even the ones that haven't hit puberty yet are relentless! At one point I heard someone say "oh my god, I'm still at school too! I ...

    Recovery in Florianopolis

A travel blog entry by kirsty.md on Jan 28, 2013

I arrived in Floripa late on Monday afternoon. The bus journey turned into an ordeal I would rather not repeat. Latin American time keeping struck well and kept me on the bus for 27 hours. It was indeed a semi-cama bus with no service; therefore we received no meals. I was so thankful for having bought some snacks with me to keep me going. The seats became ever more uncomfortable as the journey went on, and I was very cold without a blanket and the air con kept up high ...
