... plants. We passed by refineries and saw tankers waiting off-shore, on our way to our first tourist stop in south Maceio. It was a stop filled with small shops selling local crafts. Dawn spent 2 reals on a colourful knotted thread bookmark that a cute little girl was selling. (She wanted to by a second design from the big brother but I had no change! Doh!) Our next stop was Maceió, a city but with a beach - we just can't seem to leave the coast! We had some difficulty finding our hostel, we managed to get on the right bus from the Rodoviaria but just not get off at the right stop (the directions from the hostel where not great in our defence). But there, the port was really nice, tiny beach and small barraca ...

Speaking of tour guides, there was much dissatisfaction and threats of mutiny on the boat due to the general universal experience today of tour guides who struggled to speak the language they were employed to speak in. The Spanish bus could apparently not understand one word, I don’t speak much ...

... me for some crazy waves.. In the end we had the lifeguards asking to come to the sand.. The tide was to strong. We managed to swim back. We watched the sunset and took loads of pictures. Finally we walked until the pousada del sole for a fast shower and we went for dinner in the same restaurant of the night before. Dona madalena. The food is just delicious. This time we had muqueca de marisco e peixe com molho de espinafres. Very ...
