Was woken up by a procession that passed by on the Rua Alvarenga... then a late morning walk to lunch down to Pilar and back again, with a stop at the Fonte da Gloria, which had a nice little poem glued to it.

      - The carnival is going on. We can hear the dance music all the day. The drinks stream everywhere.
The hilarity is becoming more large scale and colorful. Yesterday we saw the student groups
