      It was nice to wake up this morning at 6:30 and for it to be light outside. That combined with the warm weather and the beautiful views from the window make me even more excited to go explore Ouro Preto. After breakfast, four of us met at a local guide who took us to the local bus station and then we rode about half hour out of town.       A few snaps, it has been a very trying and busy week as we get ready for our trip to Nepal... got a great blue fusca during sunset on the way to class last night... and this morning the moon was setting as I walked up to get bus tickets in the rodoviaria before Tai Chi in the Jardim Botanico.

      Ouro Preto is a beautiful colonial town full of cobbled streets set in the mountains about 2 hours from Belo Horizonte. One of the oldest cities in the country, it houses extravagant churches and buildings funded by numerous gold mines nearby. It is a very photogenic town!       ... and on our way back we ran into Heloisa in the Praça de Cinema, and walked back towards Rosário, M & H went down to Pilar to follow the procession a bit... I stayed in the Largo do Rosário to wait the procession...

      Traditionally it begins with a lot of little angels... very sweet, then the biblical figures and ends with the Host and the band...
