... quite vicious especially during the summer. I was scratching for days. The beach apart from the mosquitoes were amazing. I met a lovely couple from São Paulo and we tried to speak Spanish to each other. We shared a litre of brahma and so calamari. After lunch we arrived back at the Jeep and headed for a walk to see a local waterfall. After that we had some spare time to catch some waves and then caught a speedboat back to the west side ...

    ... arrived!

Thought I was lucky getting a bus back direct to "do Balsa" (the ferry) rather than changing in Vila – what they don’t tell you, is, like on the way there, it goes to every corner in the hinterland of them there hills – it was an excruciating hot and packed and sticky ride but just made the very slow 5pm ferry. Upon arrival we immediately hit the water, but we had options, we could either jump in the pool or the ocean. We of course chose both during our stay. The week consisted of lots of games and swimming and my personal favorite paddle ball in the pool.

    Not your average weekend.

... story definitely tops mine - it is incredible! She was on a bus, staring out the window, nodding off a little when the woman next to her tapped her on the shoulder. She turned round and there was... wait for it... a TARANTULA ON HER SHOULDER. Not joking. Apparently it had hairy legs with orange and red stripes and a big fat hairy body which sounds absolutely terrifying :O But that’s not the worse part. When she freaked out (which of course any ...
