... to lose portions of my vision and the pain was excruciating. I managed to write a thank you note and finish packing my stuff but then had to lie down from dizziness, pain, and loss of vision. ... I could go on and on about the football but we have equally enjoyed many other experiences.
We were lucky enough to meet a quality Kiwi couple from Wellington on our first day in Natal. They were staying in the same apartment building. We shared some nice meals, beers, caipirinhas and stories of Brazil and my home country. The kids loved being able to talk in English to people other than their parents. Each of us vying for the attention of these unsuspecting new friends.

... wearing USA gear, so the locals were probably so relieved we weren't calling them "Ree-als" they just politely let it slide. Our driver shows up and he was an extremely large man. I was quite impressed that he was so agile getting in and out of the buggy. He only spoke Portuguese so Bruce and Mark had to attempt the communication with him, but he was very friendly and jolly.
