Here I was thinking that I was coming to a quiet surf town, to relax and recover after Rio, only to find out that it is like the Ibiza of Brazil. We all have showers and meet for dinner. Most sit down for pizza. Me and a Canadian woman go for a wander down the street, through the food festival. Tasting was $5-$7 so we tried a ...

Since light travels the maximum speed through space (space itself does not have to follow this law) allowed by the theory of ...

... We arrive to the base of the Favella and are given a quick intro - the basic rule is: no taking photos of men with guns or walkie talkies (they are the drug dealers and it is strongly prohibited) We each jump on the back of a motor bike and have an awesome ride up the mountain the favella is situated on - weaving tightly in between buses ARGGH. Get dropped of at the top and start our walk down and through ...

... ah, but the coolest thing of the day was the Real Gabinete Português de Leitura. A book place straight out of Harry Potter. Super old huge dusty books stacked to the ceiling, maybe 4 stories, wheely ladders, an old guy carefully copying text out of one...Random but cool. The Cathedral Metropolitana was also a standout - one of the cooler cathedrals I´ve been too. Super modern. A dome-cone kind of shape, seats going circular, ...
