      On my flight to LA so I thought I would start my Spartan Malibu blog. I'll arrive in LA at noon then it's an hour car ride to Malibu. I'll settle in, check into the hotel and get a lay of the land. I still need to buy some stuff for the race but wanted to wait until I got to LA.       ... turn and no exits for 12 miles. Finally found a truck stop, Fray asked for help, we found a shortcut but it took 1.5hrs to get home & it was completely dark & raining the whole way. Sooo stressful. Took the shine off an otherwise great day. Didn't feel like driving anymore so walked to dinner at the Italian restaurant next door again. The photos on Insta show the ridiculous pizza we got (thought sharing a meal would reduce the waste). Wine ...

      ... which were all closed up this time but were being used when I did this same trip in the summer of 2012. We also had free wi fi once we crossed into the US which is always great & the train had a viewing carriage which we each visited for a while. If you ever visit this area & you have time, the train is terrific. We arrived in Albany at 5.30pm & because we'd been sitting in a train for 11 hours, we decided to walk from the station to the hotel. A distance of 1.1 miles and ...

      I think everyone on our tour was also rather dismayed when Eleanor's room was pointed out. Since Franklin's mother lived in the family home, Eleanor was not the woman in charge.
