... a real treat when it
costs less than $100. This stalling allowed Cindy to catch up; I was
only five minutes ahead by the time we reached her land.
After hand-sawing a wind-downed Balsam,
we got Tag backed onto its spot by the lake for the next nine days.
The weather was really nice for two days but then changed to cold
with rain (and a little snow) ...
... facebook babies...Rock's and Casey's...so nice to see them in person after watching them be born and grow on facebook! Later won some more money at blackjack..had a really good dealer who was happy to teach me some of the finer points of the game...maybe I can actually play in Vegas and win there too!!! Power was out at hotel for quite a long time so did not get to hang in hot tub again...but we did complain enough to get a free night!
... raincoat (in her bag!) and back to car. About 5.30 got to end of reservation and immediately saw a bar with signs for rafting -- and accomodation!! So we bailed out and booked kingsize motel room overlooking bend in Wolf with rapids -- for $50 -- and had very pleasant night. Food in bar for £30 -- chicken and steak sandwiches, two beers for me and coffee for Anna.

SO many laughs, so much good fun and food, and such amazing friendship to be celebrated when we gather at Norma Jean & Gus' place on Lake Bradley in Wisconsin's Northwoods. Most of their family was up for the weekend, and Myrna came up from Minneapolis, too. Great bird watching in between all the rest of the fun - LOTS of pictures to be posted when we get to a decent signal!

Despite some incorrectly-sized pieces, a few false starts, several cloudbursts and storms, and many meal-time interruptions, the deck was mostly complete by the time "the gang" left on Monday! An amazing exhibit of teamwork, sharing, and support.
