    ... roads with extreme drops and sporadic guard rails. Again, my passenger seat navigation and warnings drove Wade nuts. So, at his insistence, I learned to just pick my finger nails and stare straight down at my lap…that works by the way - mostly.

    ... us back to the bus stop and when we asked was there a bus coming soon, he answered "nein", which we knew to be no. He took off and we stood at the bus stop deliberating our options and along came a taxi, what luck, piled in and headed for home, but wait is our taxi driver the shuttle driver ?????     ... we were having an easy day, the walk up out of the car park to the canyon was pretty steep. They charge admission to the canyon because of the boardwalks and bridges so we bought some tokens and headed up further past the German cows.

    Heading through the turnstiles, we were greeted with a refreshingly cool wave of air blowing down the canyon. It is hard to describe these sorts of things, but it was something like out of a movie like Lord of the Rings ...

    ... that were planned and the grand entrance with marble staircase, floors and walls and immaculate paintings which really gave the place a grandiose appearance fit for a Bavarian king. Climbing up the stairs we were greeted with rooms, each more astounding and unbelievably richer than the last. It appears that the Mad King was mad about the Sun King Louis IV and had the whole place designed as an homage to him and Versailles albeit on a smaller, but finer scale.
