After the previous nights 24 hours travelling we hit the hay early and plan to wake the next day to beat the midday sun.... We woke at lunch time but hey it's ok ha. Strolling the streets our only goal for the day is to find two Italian soccer guernseys for a cheap price so we can back them in the World Cup! First shop 29euro each, second stop 80 euro each and finally at the last stop we get them 2 for 25 euro! Laughing!!! More shopping, ...

... magnet! They had a nice day out on the waters and walking the alleys. Will slept most of the afternoon and woke up hungry (good sign) so we went to this an authentic Italian restaurant , (2nd time for Gregg & Lauren). Will didn't last the distance so Lauren took him home and Gregg & I stayed and finished the meal.

We debated whether to stay another night to help Will recover, but we were keen to get away from this heat wave! ...

... then made my way to our apartment, at the other end of the city. That evening we went for a walk, to see Venice at night before enjoying a prosecco or two at a bar in the student area. Some of the Christmas lights where still up, which cast beautiful reflections on the water. On our way home, we heard of a flood warning, which was proved true when we walked into one of the piazzas and saw water slowly seeping across the square! Nevertheless, we made it home safely ...
