... garden, soho, china town, trafalgar square, buckingham palace, whitehall, and westminster abbey, and we also hand a pint somewhere in there as well. later we went to brixton for some 'reasonably' priced japanese food (the first sushi i've had since i got over here) and went to check out a jazz bar, though unfortunately on a jazzless night. my tuesday started ambitiously with an 8-something am wake up. i got to the british museum a bit after openning at 10 and ...
London, England, United Kingdom aarondewitt... awkwardly popped, so my ears were frustrating me, and I seemed to have gotten a bit of a cold from someone on the plane. As much as that could have upset me however, I was happy to be on my way into the city. Everyone sees pictures of Big Ben, Parliament, and the London Eye as thew grow up, and now I was going to see them in person. I expected them to be big and surrounded by tourists, and I was right about that. However, I never would have ...
Sevenoaks, England, United Kingdom lakaitgreg... half hours. I read a rubbishy romance book set in London and also a book about Scottish Murders and also dozed a little and took time to watch the scenery. I finally made it to London then took the tube to Hammersmiths St Christophers. I then settled in to my room relaxing chating with friends and also on the computer a bit. I then went to bed around a quarter to midnite not extremly tired but knowing ...

Sevenoaks, United Kingdom jocksofhazzard... I were in heaven surrounded by exquisite original art pieces. Including Picasso, Monet, Andy Warhol, etc, etc, etc. The museums were too large to get through, so we decided to move on and come back on another day. We walked on past Buckingham palace. We decided to leave that for another day. I hear they are possibly going to give tours of the palace this summer, so hopefully we will get a chance to do just that. We stopped at a McDonald's for lunch. They have much ...
London, England, United Kingdom roxana.imam... over the drawbridge to enter. I joined the famed tour by one of the Tower Guards, or 'Beef Eaters'. To become a tower guard one must serve for 15 years in the British Military and reach the rank of Sergeant Major, then once selected, complete one year of historical training. Therefore these guides are in fact true military guards and not just tour guides. The guards certainly seem to enjoy what they do, especially where they have the opportunity to frighten young children ...

Sevenoaks, United Kingdom billy-123... art exhibition, a hop-on-hop-off bus tour, walking tours, musical, it was a whirlwind! I hope I did my best to give off a good impression of this beautiful and amazing city to a few first timers. No sooner had I seen Marnie off to the airport then I turned around and met up with Nicole who had, on a whim, flown out for a few days. It was wonderful to see so many people, much more then I did in Ireland! I was only able to see Nikki twice while she ...
London, United Kingdom jenn_l_hardyWell one month, 2200 miles, and 3 countries later (well sort of) and we are still talking : ) We have spent 24 hours a day together and it has been a breeze. We have seen some wonderful things in some incredible places on this island. The history of this place alone demands the greatest respect. Virtually every little village and practically every other highway exit had signs to a historic site or castle with each one meriting the attention. Most ...
London, United Kingdom meganandkevin... on Sunday...then I went into London on Monday with Phil and we met up with Laura in Covent Garden for modern british food (it snowed!), then on tuesday I met up with Ruth, whom I met in ethiopia, for lunch, the national portrait gallery, and tea at Fortnam's (it snowed when we were in there too!) and lots of walking around in the freezing wind. What a great time!
