To become a tower guard one must serve for 15 years in the British Military and reach the rank of Sergeant Major, then once selected, complete one year of historical training. Therefore these guides are in fact true military guards and not just tour guides. Well one month, 2200 miles, and 3 countries later (well sort of) and we are still talking : ) We have spent 24 hours a day together and it has been a breeze. ... on Sunday...then I went into London on Monday with Phil and we met up with Laura in Covent Garden for modern british food (it snowed!), then on tuesday I met up with Ruth, whom I met in ethiopia, for lunch, the national portrait gallery, and tea at Fortnam's (it snowed when we were in there too!) and lots of walking around in the freezing wind.
