The Glacier Express

A travel blog entry by a.baker.abroad on Jun 08, 2015

We woke early in Zermatt to check out, take in one last look around the beautiful little town and jump about the famous Glacier Express train along UNESCO heritage railways to our final destination of St Moritz. Along the way there was endless picturesque scenery from snow capped mountains to summer green fields and typically Swiss towns all along the route. We arrived in St Moritz late in the afternoon and settled into our hostel for another relaxing ...

And so you do feel rather like the captive tourist contributing significantly to the wealth of this 24x24 kilometre beautiful principality or at least to the lifestyle of the Prince who resides in the castle that towers above.

The start of the day found us at our rental just outside Schywz, Switzerland. We hopped in the car about 8:30 this morning and headed to our 2nd country of the day, Liechtenstein. Stopped in the city of Vaduz. Walked around town, listened to the church bells chime 11:00am and got my passport stamped! Onward to our 3rd country of the day, Austria.
