... the minister's name "Dr. Starr Bowen" and while we were driving around on Wednesday, we saw his name on the First UMC in Gordon, TX. Of course we thought, "Starr, another female minister." We sure were wrong and if we had not been introduced to him, I never would have picked him out as a minister, other than he wears a clerical collar. The members really like him, he has been there 12 years!

... so we drove out of town and stopped in at Fort Ric******* State Park and Historic Site. There were not very many people there and one of the park rangers latched on to us and proceeded to give us a guided tour which they don't normally do on Saturday. After we were able to shake him, we continued to walk around the fort and look in all the buildings, but it was hot and dusty, so we didn't linger outside very long.

... the city. Actually Eastland is a neat town and has some intact historic building. They also have a large HS (they are the Buckaroos). We spent a fair amount of time looking around Eastland, but then it was time to move on.

... to Santo. Not sure why this campground's address is Santo since that town is 7 miles away. Santo is a very small town as is evidenced by the one street downtown area. It also has 3 churches and a school, not sure how many grades. We did see the marching band practicing.

... soaked the towel even more. It appeared that the ring was messed up and allowed water to seep where it didn't belong. We were hoping that is all it was.

So we finally got everything packed up, drove over to put some gas in the coach, hooked up the car and we were on the road by 9:30 and we made good time arriving at the campground about 1:15.
