... on the hour.
Walked across the Old Town and up to the Tivoli Gardens. This is a large city park which featured a most unusual display of over 240 contemporary posters all of which made some social comment (often with an environmental conservation theme).
Second break at central cafe before saying farewell to Dieter and Ute about 2pm.
Walked up to the train station to check things out for our departure ...

... BEST carpaccio, salad, pasta with truffles.. It was rainy and chilly the whole night but that didn't stop up. We walked around and checked out the city including Ljubljana Castle, Kongresni and Persernov squares, Robba Fountain and the bridges. We stopped at a cafe on the river and shared a bottle of wine before heading back to our hotel and bed. Tomorrow we plan to get up and explore more of the city. Hopefully it won't be ...

... just go to Bled. I arrived at the bus station to get my ticket and then piled into the bus with everybody else going in that direction. One thing here though, do not listen to what is said on the Internet! There IS indeed a direct service to Bled and Bohinj but when I looked I could not find anything about it and it told me I had to change. However, everybody in Ljubljana I spoke to ensured me that there was indeed a direct bus and they were of course correct. I am not ...

One peculiar thing about the centre was its famous, Triple Bridges which were, as the name suggests, three bridges, except extraordinarily close together, so much so that it was impossible to capture them in a photograph. ... to the Volcji Potok Arboretum it was full of nice trees and flowers and it gave me some new ideas. I found some wonderful bright green frogs which were clearly doing a good job on the slugs, as the Hostas were uneaten. Charlie was overcome by the scents of the flowers which he clearly finds very soporific, or was it the very good evening we had last night chatting to a lively Dutch couple?
