... pizzerii i potem... zwiedzamy " kocia republike".
Riwiera Makarska to naszym zdaniem, najpiekniejsze wybrzeze Chorwacji.
Oczywiscie, jesli lubicie na rowni gory i morze!!
My lubimy ;)
Tak wiec podziwiamy, przejazdem, Makarska. Smaczny obiadek , pare zdjec w pieknych zakatkach i.... dalej!..w droge do ...

... walked us to an ostarija down the street and tucked out of the way, where we had the best lunch. I looked at it, soup, beef, more nyoki, what could be the big deal? Mom, Daddy would love this place, big pots of working man's lunches since 1799, plus these nyoki melted in your mouth, the anonymous looking slabs of beef had been marinating in red wine and all kinds of herbs for hours, the veggie and shroom soups we tried would ...
Korcula Town, Korcula, Croatia commuter... pretty and has a subtle urban sprawl that is only noticable once you climb the fortress/citadel. There is a small square adjacent to the harbour and during the evening a free concert of 8 tenors performing (presumably!!) local/traditional music. It was beautiful to listen to, as a group of us sat in the square for dinner.
... type peninsula thing. So from above the pine trees stop and the
pebbles jut out around the trees and down to a tip, like an isosceles triangle
that curves slightly. That’s the one, right? Maths HAS come in handy to
me!!!!!!! Who knew?! All those classes have finally paid off! I feel complete.
Anyway, we got down there and sunned. There were some restaurants, drinks shacks, and even an internet café amongst the pine trees. They were playing loud music ...
... captain was the living incarnate of Popeye complete with over sized tattoo forearms and a profile that matched the cartoon character to a tee. Korcula, wonderful place. It would have been great to have some wheels here and explore the whole island, 95% of which is either uninhabited or quaintly agricultural. Ditto for the Peljesac peninsula which looked at least as stunning. It was a shame that we didn't have more time to explore, but we've said that about almost everywhere.
Korcula Town, Korcula, Croatia jenandjeffmilum... I had not really thought about what I was going to do once my friends had left. So last night I got out my Lonely Planet and made a choice. Bosnia! Why not, a country I know little about but I sure it be swell. To be honest the only reason I picked it was because it was heading the right way. So tonight I take a 7 hour night bus to Sarajevo. See you there
Split, Croatia johnhart... there were nudist rocks and ledge areas! We chose our own cement ledge overlooking the Old town and mountains and sun baked for the next couple of hours. It was bliss, apart from the hardness of the cement and the company of ants- but the view made up for it. Croatia especially (and Nice) has changed by perception on what a beach is- it appears that for an area to be called a beach it doesn't actually need to have sand and can even be a cement ledge! And l have also discovered ...
Korcula, Croatia mimmy21... like everybody else. My fear abated somewhat but I still stared at them as they strolled on by, especially the young ones which are particularly rare in the US and therefore a novelty. Swimming was a big activity and we had a narrow rocky beach just below our apartment. The little beach was close and Collette could play in the little patches of garbage that washed onto the shore. One time she was kind enough to bring an old rope back with us. On another occasion we ...
Korcula, Croatia fezmonkey... swim I went back to the boat for our picnic lunch on board. It was salad, a barbecued fish (which was sooooo tasty) and fresh fruit. Once again the boat set off and we headed to the last island of Lopud. There are no cars on this island. It has a few churches and monasteries from the 16th century. On the other side of the island there was a sandy beach. So i ...
