Sam Jackson had a harder time finding fun: he wandered the property "all day" and though he loves to wander at home, he was hoping to find someone to play any of the many games there, which admittedly do require another person. But he at least enjoyed some solitude while Sam and I hiked a nice eight mile loop from the property up to the nearest high point that provided yet ...

We saw lakes, mountains, beaches, a bridge and a hill, which we climbed. The views from the top were fabulous. It was cold and windy up there though so we headed down, which took a long time and we didn't get back until 7.40pm. We had cheese fondue for dinner with beer in it. Yum!

... s no snow. An article in a national paper explains the irritation of vacationing families at having to pay an entrance fee into one of the (previously free) ski areas to cover the cost of the fake snow that's being put down as an interim measure. Fortunately, I didn't come to Bariloche for the skiing (I have never been skiing in my life and I have no intention of breaking an ankle now when I still have two months travelling to go), and the sunshine makes for ideal ...
