... I met up with Rach and we headed off to get some chocolate. I'm impressed by both white and dark but fairly indifferent about the milk. It tastes more like American Hershey's rather than say, Cadbury's or even Galaxy.

In the evening I got on with sorted my Arg pictures before heading out to the pizza place from the first ...

Well it turns out that it would have been a perfect idea except, wait for it, it rained a lot. Am sure it would have been beautiful but arrgghhhhhhhh. Now i know to avoid any Lake District any where in the world because all it does is rain. YouŽd have thought the Lonely ...

I arrived in Bariloche by bus, having taken a series of boats and buses through the national parks crossing the Andes. It's a costly trip - only one company runs the lakes crossing route and they increase the price by $50 US every two years, which doesn't necessarily correspond to an improvement in services. The views make it worth it, but for these you need a clear day: cue an extra 6 days in Puerto Varas checking the weather forecasts every few hours.

Blonde It was touch and go whether we visited the Argentine Lake District's largest city, Bariloche. For every "wow, it's beautiful, you must go", there was a contradictory face-screw and a, "you won't like it". We unearthed our stolen Lonely Planet from the depths of the Berghaus; hmmm, located on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, one "can find it all in Bariloche". Considered the capital of adventure tourism in Argentina, it was on route to Santiago, where ...

... Renee in our hearts (no worries, ladies), but we've enjoyed some brief connections. There was the Aussie couple in Puerto Natales who were getting ready to hike the 'W' in Torre del Paine. They gave us some great suggestions on going to the Galapagos that sealed our decision to go. While sitting at the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu (yes this entry is dated 21 November and I'm talking about something that happened in December; I'm that far behind in ...
