The surprising part, at least for me, was that I really enjoyed Monterrey. The city itself is interesting, and we explored several free museums and an interesting park. We also went for a nice long walk along a canal (not clear if this was a natural canal made pretty or a man-made canal). ... of back alley in downtown Monterrey. It has a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom with AC! All for US$10 per night! Sometimes even though we seem to be taken care of - there's just no peace. Monterrey is a BEAUTIFUL city, although very Americanized. After two more meetings were set up for this weekend, we knew we had to cancel and keep moving. It was confirmed by MANY. The people were not happy, but oh well. On to Tampico!

I have to admit, when I saw how "Americanized" it was - you know, with air conditioning, electricity, wireless internet access, I was a bit dissappointed. Plots pak ik een verkeerde afslag en we zitten op de snelweg naar Puebla. Zo snel mogelijk er af dan maar en proberen de weg terug te vinden. De logische manier zou zijn: afrit nemen, andere kant oprit nemen, en terug rijden; Maar dit is Mexico, dus het wordt iets gecomplceerder ...

... from a shop that day. They told us that only five year old children played with balls in Mexico. They both spoke english and one was actually and english teacher so we hung out with them most of the night, before they dropped us home later in the night. I was pretty sure we were in, but I think the other girl cracked it when she found out Brendan had a girlfriend and was only being friendly, where as i had other ideas! ... a boat trip around the lake in a boat belonging to Evers' friend Jimmy along with his son also called Jimmy (who also entertained us with their brilliant family band and some great rock and roll!). All in all, Monterrey as great fun, it was great to meet with a familiar face and be shown such a good time with great people. Thank you Ever, Laura and all the Garza family!

... They had the front passenger seats removed, so 2 Mexican-sized people could fit snugly into the back. Dozens of them put-putted around the steep streets in the little neighborhood incessantly, and the overall effect was like being caught in a life-size Pac-Man game. ... we messed up with gas stations to refill, we had to drive even more than needed, we spend 2 hours crossing monterrey until the airport, but after a 10 hours drive, sweating of stress we arrived 10 minutes before our flight. we could get in! that was a great day of adventure like we like it!

at night we arrived to cancun where we had to find out how to get a room in an hotel...yeahhh...mexican organisation....

Today we (Lili, Liliana, & myself) visited Taxco. It was a 4 hour trip by bus. We left the house at about 7:10, the bus left at 8:05 and we arrived around noon. The bus departed taxco at 7 pm and we arrived home around 8:30. So today we spent 8 hours on the bus and 4 hours in the city...but it was worth it...the city and views were amazing and i found some really cool genuine silver stuff ...
