Cuenca, Spain and Canary Islands warm
After a disorienting evening on another overnight train car, I found myself in Madrid very early in the morning. I arrived at the station at about 7:15am, which is several hours before I could check into the hostel. I decided to sit at the station for a while to attempt to rip myself out of the murky half sleep where I spent most of the night. After I woke myself up a bit I headed to the metro to attempt to find my way through town.

It ...
Madrid, Madrid, Spain and Canary Islands sirsmonkey42Alors voila!
Cuenca, Spain and Canary Islands philocan... the place campaigning for the routing of the AVE through Cuenca on its way to Valencia, were met with the response, "...if they want the AVE, they´re going to have to put some effort in". - No, not Spain´s Minister for Transport, but Virg. Reluctantly then, we have to end the trip. Back to Malaga for a couple of weeks with family before heading back to the UK and the world of work. Until next time..... A&Vx
Mon lit............. A demain
Cuenca, Spain and Canary Islands philocanLeft Madrid on Dec. 27 and headed for Cuenca. There was suppose to be these hanging houses. More like houses slightly over the edge of the rock face than hanging. Cuenca is a small town but there were some cool museums and buildings. On the 29th when we left Cuenca and got the train to Valencia where we encountered an ...
Cuenca, Spain wilsonking... we would be charged a hefty fee for not refilling it, we headed out to find a gas station. Easier said than done, considering half of Valencia was cordoned off for Fallas parades and the other half was a maze of one way streets. Oh yeah, and most of the stations were closed. This was a serious test of my navigational abilities, but after about 45 minutes of hunting we found a station and refilled. Adventure over.
Cuenca, Spain youngt... in the black-markets. In fact some Chinese students were put on electric chairs after spending so much money, patience and courage in order to watch one. And then, I paid a little amount of money to this hostal for bed and shower, and those very explicit programmes were included in the price, with no cops watching. I was watching it for a while but finally got bored and went to bed. C'est la vie...now I understand why my friends often ...
Cuenca, Spain k.toyoda... Well, ***xxx### 4 in the evening. The first problem in Cuenca: I didn't know one word in her speech and then all the sentence collapsed in my head. It suddenly did not make sense to me. I begged her perdon, hoping she used an easier expression for the guy with an exotic accent. -Sorry what? - ***xxx### 4 in the evening! I gave up to understand it. So I guessed and said; well I'll be back at 4 sharp ...
