... kites.

On Sunday we all got up early and headed out to our new favorite breakfast spot 'Rainbow Cafe.' They serve ridiculously good breakfasts at cheap prices. The meals normally consist of beans (staple of every meal), eggs and tomatoes. It isnt quite as good as cheese covered scrambled eggs and bacon but its definitely growing on me in a good way.

Our ride to the celebration in the city of ...
Sumpango, Sacatepéquez, Guatemala lindseyhehmanLast Friday we had yet another excursion with the school. This time we took yet another chicken bus, which took us by Ciudad Vieja to San Antonio Aguas Caliente, where apparently the water is freezing cold. So much for a catchy name. In San Antonio we visited this small artisans cooperative, where we were given instructions to the local clothing as well as the wedding ceremonies of the Christian Mayans. Naturally, I ended up being one of the actors ...

Normally, we would have
been skeptical of somebody who was so nice to us, but he had his mother
and his aunt in tow, so we figured he must be okay. Mom warning: please
don´t read the rest of this paragraph if your name is Carolyn.
Antigua, Guatemala mymzyWe stopped at a viewing point on the way back to Antigua with stunning views back over Lake Atitlan. In Antigua we checked back into our earlier hostal and I relaxed in the courtyard again until we went for salsa lessons at 5pm. The salsa lesson was great, a few of us staying with it for 1.5 hours of lessons. Afterwards we went out for our final group dinner of the tour, because ...
Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala danasv... we had to do a little more navigating to get to the flowing lava (about 2 hours). Second time round the views were amazing! At the start there are lots of kids trying to sell walking sticks. I got one for 5Q and then it gets returned to the children, but they keep the money. I really liked the walking stick.
