... but we wanted to be guaranteed a room when we got there. The hotel was recommended - clean, hot water, toilet seat, TV (wow), kitchen facilities and near the beach. All should be good and for sure it will be fun. Our cottage neighbour, Dale, spends several weeks in Puerto Escondido every year, so we hope that it is a small enough place so that we can find him easily. For sure he'll be surprised to see us! We have heard rumours of a one day bus ...

Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico lobo... my nice, comfy, inexpensive room because I'm lonely, only to be in a bigger, emptier, less comfy, and more lonely room!" but it ending out working out, and by the time I left, the place was nearly-full, with a very diversity cadre of travelers. Met some cool people, and spend some time actually interacting with other human beings, and feel much, much better. And then Zipolite... Zipolite is very close to Puerto Angel (where I went snorkeling ...
Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico dmwalsh... confusion wanted more money and I got huffy and left only to find it was probably the normal amount anyway. The town we had to get the money from had a weird bad vibe, and everyone was looking at us but not in a curious friendly way. Shane started freaking because he just got out 500 dollars so we left soon after instead of shopping, and took another guy who perhaps thought he was on a race track in the Grand Prix and so we arrived back home in one piece but a little car sick ...
Zipolite, Mexico shanemilli... beach. The other downside to being by the water is for the first and no doubt not the last time on my trip I´ve been eaten alive by mozzies. Despite my best efforts with repellent, mozzie net & long trousers at night they are having a massive munch on my foreign white flesh and my legs are covered in bites. I just bang on the antihistamine stuff , keep popping the malaria pills and hope for the best. The American guy in ...
Zipolite, Mexico garygapyearThe night had been surprisingly smooth -- in fact, less jiggly than the night before. We woke to find us a ways off the coast of Mexico -- but steaming towards shore. Huatulco is lovely from the sea, a series of bays in the cliffs -- especially in the morning light. When we went ashore after breakfast, it was already HOT, but we walked the couple of kilometers to the town of La Crucecita. Not much there -- shops, a square, a church (with ...
Huatulco, Mexico ahartry... the sea had a good swell about it which was going to test the old sea legs - luckily we had taken some motion sickness tablets earlier! We visited a number of bays - one with a blow hole created by waves driving the sea into a cave which was then forced upwards through a small gap creating an impressive 'blow' from the rocks above. Another bay gave us a swimming opportunity but was a bit chaotic with boats all ...
Huatulco, Mexico lizianjosh... she had us wait a minute. When she came back out she introduced us to a Canadian fellow named Dan who now lives down there. Dan hooked us up with a fantastic place to stay, with a garage for our bikes. He also gave us the grand tour of downtown Acapulco and gave us some great lessons on staying out of trouble while in Mexico. The ended up staying in Acapulco the next 3 days as it was raining like hell due to a tropical storm off the coast, plus Dan ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico dstrp... a pleasant conversation as we drove through the jungle. He told me I need to have children soon. I told him I'd see what I could do. The women at my hotel are humorless, so of course I go out of my way to be overly friendly and smile at them and ask them for advice in my horrible spanish: ME: Could you please me recommend her a place for breakfast good eat? (smile smile smile nod nod) HUMORINA: (cold stare. waves her ...
