... more Spanish than I speak, and he didn't speak too fast so I was fine. We visited a Macadamia nut farm during the ride and got a tour there. At one point we had to go steep uphill for 20 minutes! I was quite tired after that. When we were done, the guide told us we had just ridden 28 kilometers! That night we ate at a great restaurant that had falafels, then went home and went to sleep very, very well.
Semuc Champey was to be our last destination in Guatemala. We had hoped to make it up to Tikal to see some pretty spectacular Mayan Ruins but that trip would have to wait. The next day we travelled to Copan Ruins in Honduras. Overall, we both really enjoyed Guatemala and would definitely consider a trip back here one day in the future. ... night, then go to the lake first thing Monday 23rd, until we fly out from Guatemala City on the 26th. We were going to spend some time in Guatemala City, but it looks like a bit of a hole, and we have heard it is quite dangerous so we're going to go straight from the lake to the airport.

Holly and I had decided last night that we would go to the 9am Finca Filadelfia tour as it then meant we could have time to have our included breakfast at yellow house, as it was so delicious and so worth making time for, especially the 'papas fritas' aka potatoes in herbs, butter with onion and capsicum (sweet peppers).
