... hang out with native Spanish speakers instead of with the Americans (who only want to speak English most of the time). My goal is to be able to speak Spanish dramatically better by the time I leave, and I believe this is the way to achieve that goal. Speaking Spanish inside the classroom but English in my free time will get me no where. This is exactly what our teacher, Lourdes, has told us since day 1 and I am so glad I finally took her advice.
... very excited that we were able to see a work of his! The building of his that we saw was the Capricho - decorated with tiles that have sunflower designs and music notes on them. It's a unique place, for sure! Gaudí was highly influenced by nature, so his architecture is one of a kind.
We had a great time on our first excursion! We will be going on these trips every weekend to see what is around our school.

... one day, but even the replica of the cave was stunning. It gives a lot of insight as to what people thought about and did back then, and it is such a beautiful thing to see. Since they have officially closed down the real caves due to the wearing down of the art from hundreds of thousands of tourists, the replica would have to do. And it was great!

... very interesting to watch. Everyone was wearing red scarves around their necks for whatever it was that they were celebrating.
After leaving downtown, we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon at the beach. Tomorrow we are going to the west coast for the day, so stay posted for more exciting details about our trip :)
... D! We met up with Rusty (one of our other very good friends here!) and went to the beach. Yesterday, I found this amazing part of the beach with mossy boulders and rocks filtering and trapping the water, making it more blue and warm! I had to go back today!
Unfortunately, it got too cloudy. The sky looked ominous so we headed back to the dorm. I am still so happy with the time we spent there.
Today couldn't have been any better!
