Leaving Belize was a bit of a circus, we had to catch 2 buses and managed to get on the wrong one in Belize City that instead of taking us up and over the border into Mexico left us in a town 20 km before the border. We managed to find another bus to the border then we had to walk through the Belize exit and the Mexican entry with our packs on - a sizable distance. If we'd caught the right bus it would have taken us right through. You get that when you don't speak Spanish! Finally in Mexico a...
Puerto Morelos, Mexico heatheravan... my boss saying, I may be late back what with the hurricane n'all.
There's a fecking Hurricane on the way?!!!
Doubt I will get any sun tanning in at all, mind you L.A. is usually always sunny, apart from a cold spell last week, I had to put on a JACKET, hahahahahaha.

Need to find someone with a sliver of sense to discuss hurricane, only English speaking people on tour are miss crazy, crazy´s mum and a crinkly ...
Cozumel, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico john.boyd.123... a deco stop and I believe only bothered with a safety stop as Myk and I both did one. Next dive was shallow (around 12-15 metres) and while our DM didn’t bother with a safety stop, we kept under the surface for well over the three minutes since they decided not t bother with their SMB despite surfacing in a horrendously busy boat channel?? I would hate to think of nervous or inexperienced divers using this company as safety is about ...
Cozumel, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico twinkfran... trying all the shops these stand out as our favourite, not the cheapest but definitely our preferred. In fairness, all of the dive shops are a thousand times less indifferent than Belize. MBD are incredibly organised, they check our credentials, we fill in stacks of paperwork, there is a full dive briefing…..I have nothing bad to say about them. Our guide, Marie, is clearly crazy in the best possible sort of ...
Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico twinkfranWe have been out of our house for a month and it isn't that bad. Today this nice family lent us a bunch of snorkels and masks. James, Sophia, Dad, and I went snorkeling in the ocean. We saw a bunch of fish, starfish, and stingrays. It was a lot of fun but we got a sun burn. At first I wasn't sure if I would like it but I am glad ...
Puerto Morelos, Mexico sabrinapm... to miss the hoardes of tourists that show up around 10am. I can't say alot for Tulum ruins as we walked around for a whole 20 minutes before retiring at a beach, playing catch in the Caribbean Sea for our remaining time. However in hind sight and looking back at photos it is definitely a picturesque site with the ocean backdrop, athough this is our 5th Mayan Site of our trip, the group is definitely archaelogically burnt out ...
Xpuha, Mexico sd0744... have a rest and come back to the sound and light at 7.30 and tomorrow. This was said in English and Spanish, both very clearly just to ensure we totally understood - He obviously thought idiots that turned up as the site was closing needed a little guidance! So following the strict orders we returned and even purchased the English headsets for the sound and light show, since it was more sound than light this was quite lucky. We did sit there looking like Aliens. The headsets worked ...
Cancun, Mexico lizzatwell... to have it done for us at 1130 instead of 4pm. It took some interesting hand gestures and notepad writing as none of us understood each other. We went upstairs to pack up everything else and then went for a walk on the beach. When we came back our clothes were neatly folded and in a bag all ready to go. We went back and checked out. We only had to stand on the corner for about a minute before a taxi came to whisk us to the bus station. A ticket ...
Cancun, Mexico jaclynandchad... I went for a stroll around the city. I had a tasty meal at the first restaurant I found that wasn't an American chain, and then wandered the back streets, trying to avoid the americans on their spring break. Cancun was exactly as I imagined, except for the people who were so SMALL!!!
