Km 128 Punta Ballena, Punta del Este Punta del Este, Uruguay, 1005, 59842-

It's now Nov 24th, and we arrived home yesterday - but our blog is not complete, as we run out of time on holiday. We'll hopefully complete it in the next couple of days !!! Now, back to the 17th...... We are now staying at the Posada Al Dila, a small hotel in Punta Ballena which is a 15 minute drive from Punta Del Este. Out hotel is just great. The room and the decor is lovely, with a purple theme and high wooden beams. It has a nice LCD TV with a nice system plus a stereo - the best of the ...

Punta del Este, Maldonado Department, Uruguay jennykelly... looked like more fijordlands. After the strait we ended up at Punta Arenas where we saw a whole lotta penginos (magellenic pengins to be specific). luckily the poo situation we were initially worried about was just a rumor and our shoes survived. we took a speedboat into and out of the island and i thought i was going to die when we hit 3meter waves for a half hour. lea thought my terror was funny. Our boat then took us ...

If I had my time over I would have stayed at Casapueblo much longer because it was really nice. In the end I just went straight back to Montevideo. I booked a ferry for late the following afternoon, to give myself a chance of seeing at least the Cristo Obrero Church the following day.
Fe)
Punta del Este, Uruguay thom_rm... better and apart from some overcast here and there and a bit of rain on Saturday, it was stellar with clear blue skies and hottedness on Sunday and Monday. Shorts and sandles for four straight days. 1949 Hostel, replete with windowed bar and views of the beach is a party hostel and I was in the mood. The dorm rooms were a bit cramped but the matresses were good. Didn't matter ...
Punta del Este, Uruguay superg... in the strong winds from the west. He was hovering just above the roofs, or swinging from one side to the other, with great mastership I have to say, from what I can judge. He gave us a few good shots with the sunset too! Night was almost there, we had to walk a few kilometers back to the main road and then wait for a hypothetical bus to come and pick us up. I started to chat with the parapentist, he was very friendly, and he ...

Not sure if they came onto the Bus to check me out since I was fast asleep. Not like in Europe many years ago when machine gun wielding men woke me up in the middle of the night demanding to know my name. This has to rate as the easiest border crossing in my travelling career. Woke up early to watch the landscape roll by as ...

There was a group of Norwegians staying in the hostel and they would kick off each night with a drinking game, ending only when all of them had passed out dribbling in the corner. Only once did I have the balls to join them, a night that ended at sunrise in a club called Soho with Nacho, the owner of the hostel, and a bunch of his mates dancing to Uruguaian techno.
