Palma de Mallorca Spain

Arive and spend day in Majorca Also known as Majorca, this Balearic island is a true Mediterranean paradise. It's deservedly famous for such natural wonders as its golden-sand beaches, tall pine groves and towering cliffs. The landscape is as varied as the northern mountains and the southern flatlands with their almond and olive groves. Among the many must-sees are a Gothic castle, a 13th century cathedral and the former palace of Mallorcan kings.

The #2 rated best bare beach in the world.

... waded around in the surf or fell back to sleep on the beach. It was good to get rehydrated after all the alcohol and dancing from last night. It was a nice relaxing afternoon with a beautiful beach view with several other yachts in the bay and a parade of nude or topless people walking by.

One of the girls met a guy on the beach. They spent a few hours chatting and getting to know each other. It was ...

... stalactite/stalagmite formations are dramatically lit to highlight their beauty.

They bring visitors into the cave in large groups and in this last chamber everybody sits while the guide gives a multi-lingual speech about the cave. Most of the lights are then turned out and three rowboats appear on the subterreanean lake with lights all along their gunwales. The chamber is lit primarily by these lights and their reflection in ...

... the town of Muro so I went to check it out. I got myself lost a few times wandering around the twisting medieval streets of little towns and had to retrace my steps a few times. I explored all around Muro. I did find lots of windmill remains... just the base... but no windmill. The day was completely overcast with occasional sprinkles so the conditions weren't conducive to photography. Maybe tomorrow.

Randa

... Most everywhere one travels, particularly in the mountainous regions that would be very challenging on a bicycle, there are herds of bicycle tourists valiantly struggling up the mountain (or flying down it). You have to be careful driving because many times you round a bend to discover a herd taking up your whole lane.

The monastery is the Santuari de Nostra Senyora de Cura. The entry portal and parts of the ...

My first blog - Majorca

Caves are my thing, or are they?

... beautiful caves on the island. I decide on the "Cuevas del Drach" (simple decision, the entry fee was 6 Euros cheaper) than for the Cuevas del Hams. After the experience in Campanet I am deeply disappointed. It has morphed from caves to a black tourist hole where hundreds of people at a time are put in drones through it without any guidance or explanation, the security guards that are only there to ensure you don't ...
