... than yesterday. As both towns were at around 2500 meters elevation, the air was cooler and we were surrounded by gorgeous green mountains in every direction.

As we cycled I reflected on how much better the traffic was here compared to in India. We had been warned that the trucks were a nightmare and the traffic would be really heavy. In reality we found that there were trucks on the road but not half as many as we were used to ...

Somehow I had a thick spike of metal that was about 3cms long in my tyre. It didn’t slow ...

... find out that they wont take american dollars or credit card and will only take Colombian Peso cash of which we have none. Our plane gets ready to board. F'k. There are no ATMs in the terminal. F'k. I volunteer to bolt to outside and get money. Subba stays to guard our bags. Can't figure out how to get out of the terminal...F'k....follow the baggage claim signs, find a way out, ask some information desk where to find ATM, dont know the spanish word for it ...

... views looked epic. We were concentrating hard though on defensive driving. Despite there clearly being an unbroken line of traffic ahead for 4-5 miles up the mountain there were still drivers including trucks and coaches overtaking on blind bends and doing their utmost to get ahead. Madness. The air lost its soupy thickness and started to cool down and our ears popped as we climbed steadily in the dark . Finally as we approached the highest point of the pass before ...
