... was happy. Most days were spent at one beach or another with our first attempt to get to Lopes Mendes beach thwarted by our lack of geography skills and equal lack of signage. ... were all zipping down, the only drawback being having to walk back up, lugging your board in the blistering heat. A full, completed run down the dune was pretty buzzing. The element of danger is enough to get the blood and adrenaline pumping, think sledging in Winter as a kid, and you'll get the idea. We got comfortable, we got confident, some of us got cocky. ... we went for a long walk along the lake. It was still overcast but at least it was warm and not so humid. It was nice and we saw quite a few monkeys enroute. We ate a really nice lunch, right on the water, in a small little fishing village. ... enjoyed our afternoon in a Brazilian home, experiencing Brazilian hospitality and enjoying a real churrasco (Brazilian BBQ). Everyone made us feel welcome and I loved playing with the big kids around the pool. Highlights included riding the skateboards!
