... up getting a power outage all along the street. A little bit of rain and everything shuts down! It didn't take long however before the power started up again and we had a barbeque with the hostel ($r27) and our daily free Caipirinha! We went straight to the beach first thing the following morning. The hostel allows you to rent towels for your time there ($5r with a $20r deposit) along with umbrellas, seats and boogie boards which are free. The beach was amazing ...

... the beach. At the viewpoint we now took the trail that led down the hill. As we went this trail to began to become really overgrown and the shrubs were big and tall. We kept on going and ended up climbing and sliding down the dirt track down to the rocks by the water. The next beach was south so we thought we would just climb across the rocks for a while to see if we could make it there. After an hour of climbing we hadn't gotten very far so we gave in ...

... caesar salad and a plate of pasta. In true Brazilian style, both of the dishes were too big for a full meal. So I only basically ate salad for lunch and boxed the pasta up to take home. I then had it for dinner. Lunch, here, is the most important meal of the day, more so than dinner. And portions seem to ride high at any time of the day. Despite the reputation for Brazil having beautiful people, it also has a lot of fat people. Who do they think they are, America?

Florinopolis and the beach season

... the horse riding tour we found a little secluded water fall, where the guide decided to strip off to his underwear and jump in. The other person on the tour and I just looked each other thinking what is he doing. He then tried to get us to jump in with him. For some reason I decided to strip off as well and dive in. I think it was my newly found fake confidence and it seems to have gone to my head. Can I just say I had my swim suit ...
