I slept through the boys getting up at 8am and was woken with Lucy poking me at 9am. Had another provided breakfast at the hostel!! After eating a big breakfast we spent an hour packing up our stuff. Whilst packing we were provided with entertainment by aspiring Eurovision popstar, Emma, who was dancing round the room doing karaoke. She clearly used up all her energy as she slept all the way to Verona and now Milan (I'm writing this on the ...

Currently we are sat on the bus coming back to the hostel from sirmione. It had been suggested to us as one of the quieter beaches of Garda. Maybe the receptionist got the wrong end of the stick as it definitely wasn't a quiet area. However it was pretty and the water was a lot nicer than Peschiera, so we've decided to forgive him. Emma said farewell to Venice adding 'until I'm engaged'. We had to make our first change on a train today. The first journey to Verona was smooth and I'm glad to report there was a very efficient air conditioning ...

I don't want to leave Verona specifically because of the air conditioning. Did something really stupid. I decided to walk to the train station. I thought if I walked slowly it would be okay. Not a good idea. Very hot. I watched a bit of the Italian TV news and I think they were saying most of Europe is experiencing a heat wave. I'm counting the seconds until I board the train. AND guess what? Now that I'm on board the ...

... arrival will purchase a ticket for a performance of the Barber of Seville at the Arena. Right now I am the only person in this car and unless other people board in Milano I truly will be traveling alone. The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Hotel Mastino that we found at the last minute is only a few minutes walk to the Arena. Had to walk across the street to another part of the hotel but the room though compact was really ...
