A few more days relaxing in Brisbane, handing in the van now. The tough Toyota drove me 26.000 km's through this vast continent. I've have now seen all coasts of Australia, many mountain ranges, the Big Red interior and Tasmania, but 4 months is still not enough. It takes time to get to know the country and its diverse inhabitants and I've grown to love it.
As I officially said goodbye to camping on this trip, I offered all my leftovers to other campers, including a jeans and a shaver ...

... ages ago. Kathryn came out to look for us in her car and sure enough, we’d missed the turning about 15 minutes back. Not a great start. We arrived sweaty and grumpy and spent the evening trying to cool down.<br> The next day was far more successful. We got up and had a croissant breakfast with Sarah (Rachel’s sister for anyone who hadn’t realised she’s with us now too), Kathryn and her son Jiah then set off to ...

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia danandkateGood morning everyone! Well, I am back on the road again, and enjoying the sun on the Gold Coast. I met a couple when I was in Melbourne (friends of the people I was staying with down there) who live on the Gold Coast, so they very kindly offered me a place to stay while I was working in Brisbane. I intend to take full advantage of the time here by visiting places like the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Australia Zoo, which I have wanted to see for ages but never gotten around ...

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia paulandcarolynJoel: Well, we arrived in Brisbane a couple of days ago and have been staying with an Argentinean couple we made friends with at a yoga class in South India. They were so kind and invited us to stay with them after only a few hours of becoming acquainted. They are in their late 40s but seem 15 years younger - they are a real inspiration, so well traveled, full of energy and optimism and interest in the world. Their house is a dream - designed by an architect for himself ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia joelrose... Handy number spent strolling about a lovely 40 acre site in the city with most of it native bush and full of wildlife including brown snakes which I have yet to encounter. We even saved a baby owl one day! Doing a bit of mowing, weeding planting etc but when you team leader tells you twice in your first day to slow down and take it easy you just know you've landed on your feet. Its been brilliant working there, although not in 37 degree heat!! As its the ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia claire_noelA sad day to be sure....very early departure from Hotel Loucas to get to small local airport at Santorini, to make our flight back to Athens on mainland Greece. Not a very long wait until we boarded our Singapore Airlines jet bound for Brisbane (9hrs in the air), via a short 4 hr stopover in Singapore itself (great chance to stretch the poor legs ...
