Port de Plaisance Marina Agadir
Travel Blogs from Agadir
"Agadir, in Berber language "fortified granary", was founded in 1505 by the Portuguese. Totally destroyed by an earthquake in 1960, the city has been rebuilt with mandatory seismic standards. It is now the largest seaside resort in Morocco, known for its unusually mild year-round climate. The population is estimated to be in the region of 600'000 inhabitants."
Unfortunately due to weather conditions surf was a no go today as it wasn't safe enough for us novices. Therefore it became a pyjama day with a few outings to the roof terrace when the sun broke out, where also I should now have luck for the rest of the trip as a bird pooped on my leg... yuk, however it was much to Mel's amusement.
We decided to try washing some of ...
Woke up and decided to have a morning off from yoga to let my body have a rest and recover - feeling a tad achy to say the least.
Breakfast was the usual cereal, yoghurt and a smoothie made with banana meaning I couldn't have any.... they seem to be ignoring my request for a berry based one! Then it was down to the beach for a morning of surfing! Actually managing to get up and stay up on the board now woo...there's a surfer chick in me somewhere! ...
... trips and we're going to ask the rep at the hotel about them. The weather today has been cooler thanks mainly to a sea mist that has covered our end of town. It also made the souk cooler too. The marina was bathed in sunshine and was much hotter. We have booked a 2 day trip to Marrakech and Essaouira for this weekend coming up and the souk there is meant to be mental so I'm glad we got a taste for it on a smaller scale ...
... do their holidays. We eventually find something..
Next day is pretty much uneventful, we spend most of it at the beach. Its a very long beach with yellow sand. The place is full of locals all wearing a good amount of clothes. the whole scenery reminds me of Tenerife minus the clothes. We even come across a Zara clothes shop and not to far after a stradivarius clothes shop! I thought this only existed in Tenerife!
