... their room. The tour guide said some of the artists have never seen snow before they arrive. The Ice Hotel is build with SNICE - snow/ice combo. They take the ice walls out each spring and store them in the ice building for the next year. The roof is built with SNICE each winter. The church is almost completed...I will try to get in tomorrow to take some pictures...they host about 30 weddings each winter.

We arrived safely in Sweden around 6pm...long day of travel. The Ice Hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport. It is so cold here the trees and branches are all white with ice. The hotel is amazing. Well, a 4 am start and we're at the airport in London waiting for our flight! All is well, though I was selected for a random check! Yay me! I actually had a choice between pat down and full body scan - I'm kicking myself for not getting the body scan now! Next time... Anyway, next stop, ...

That's what folks from Michigan's Upper Peninsula (the U.P.) call themselves...Yoopers. Where Wisconsin is bucolic and pastoral, the UP is rough and wild. This is Hemmingway country, Nick Adams and the Big Two-Hearted River (some of the only Hemmingway stories I ever really liked). The electronic safety signs don't tell me to 'Buckle Up', rather they warn 'Don't Veer for Deer!' Driving north from Green Bay I drove right out of fall and into early winter. Fall ...
