    Kushiro, Japan - Day 12

A travel blog entry by timtamm on Oct 03, 2014

Today we awoke to us sailing into the Kushiro Harbour. Actually John and I both woke up at around 5.30am as it was light at that time in the morning. The night before we had placed an order to have breakfast in our room. It was nice not to have to head upstairs with everyone, nice to have it in our room. I went onto deck 3 to take photos when we docked of the skyline of Kushiro it was a pity the weather was overcast but it appears to be a nice little place. We ...

... again and headed to Gas Works Park. What an awesome city park! The view of Seattle’s skyline was the best from Gas Works, which is the former site of Seattle Gas Light Company’s gas plant. There are houseboats lining one side of the park, and the gas works are rusting and fenced in but remain a prominent feature of the park. After playing around with all of the interactive facilities we decided to head down to the Sports Bar ...

... about seven days in the region, visiting The Sacred Valley, and of course Machu Picchu. We'll also be searching for the elusive Drama Llama! We learned about him at REI so he has to be real. We're next heading over to Puerto Maldonao to visit the Peruvian Amazon; one of the most biologically diverse regions in the Amazon rain forest. We are well prepared with bug spray, and are hoping ...

    Pike Place Market

... lunch we headed for Pike Place Market and soon learned why people used the cross over instead of taking the stairs down to street level. To get to 1st street and the market we had to walk up what seemed like hundreds of steps. At least there were landings to break up the climb. Whew, a real workout!

Then, FLOWERS!!!! Lots and lots of beautiful bouquets for sale. I had to keep myself from buying one and trying to ...
